Bahrain Mirror: Dozens of citizens staged a sit-in in the Ras al-Rumman area in Bahrain, led by the head of the Ulama Council, Sayed Majeed Al-Mashaal, in response to the Swedish authorities allowing extremists to burn the Holy Quran.
During the sit-in held on Friday (January 27, 2023), the citizens held the Holy Quran and chanted slogans condemning the Swedish authorities' act of allowing extremists to attack Muslim sanctities.
The sit-in organizers were forced to change the location of the event after Bahraini authorities prevented them from gathering at the Beit Al Quran Museum in the capital, Manama, near the Swedish embassy, where a number of people heading to participate in the protest were taken into custody.
