Bahrain Mirror: The US Senate approved the appointment of Steven Bondy as the US ambassador to Bahrain.
US President Joseph Biden announced Bondy's (April 15, 2021) nomination as US ambassador to Bahrain.
According to the US laws, the candidate for the ambassador post must undergo a hearing in the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, and after passing the committee, 100 members vote on his appointment.
Bondy is the second US-Jewish ambassador to be sent to Bahrain after Adam Ereli, who was appointed by Obama as an ambassador to Manama from 2007 to 2011.
Ambassador Bondy previously served in Bahrain (2004-2007) and worked diligently to advance US-Bahrain relations, the US Embassy account said.
