Bahrain, UN Sign Declaration of Intent for Cooperation, Coordination to Prepare National HR Plan

Bahrain Mirror: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, and the Acting Resident Coordinator for United Nations Activities and Chief of Mission of the International Organization for Migration to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Mohammed Al-Zarqani, signed a declaration of intent for cooperation and coordination to prepare, write and develop the National Human Rights Plan for the Kingdom of Bahrain for the years 2022-2026.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed that this step reflects the growing cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Nations in various fields, adding that the reform approach of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has emphasized the importance of promoting and preserving human rights.
Al-Zayani stated that this step builds on the previous workshops organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the preparation of the National Human Rights Plan, as the Ministry held nine workshops, with the participation of more than 1,700 participants from various bodies, in which 168 working papers and 311 recommendations were presented.
