Bahrain Mirror: Fatima Yazbek, the head of the Committee on Reports and Studies at the Gulf Institute for Democracy and Human Rights, said in a press conference held by 3 human rights organizations on Thursday (February 13, 2020) in the Lebanese Capital, Beirut, under the title of "Evaluating the Violations in Bahrain during 2019" that "until the moment of writing this report, there still are 23 Bahrainis at risk of execution in Bahrain's prisons after they have exhausted all legal ways."

Yazbek explained that the violations in 2019 "reached most segments of Bahraini society as Bahraini women and female human rights defenders were targeted by the authorities in Bahrain," indicating that children were not spared.

She revealed that GIDHR documented the imprisonment of 30 children over political charges within the first 5 months of 2019. In addition, 20 children were arbitrary arrested within the same period. Yazbek stated that there were 6 cases of enforced disappearance of children within the first 5 months of 2019, in addition to 33 cases of torture of children during the same period, and 33 violations against 17 others.
