Bahrain Mirror: Al-Wefaq Islamic National Society expressed condolences over the death of former prisoner of conscience Sayed Kadhem Abbas who passed away on Monday (February 3, 2020) after sufferings due to torture, ill-treatment and denial of needed treatment.
"Sayed Kadhem is a new witness to the amount of suffering inside the Bahraini prison. He was released after his health condition sharply deteriorated and his condition became hopeless due to the Bahraini regime's ongoing refusal to offer him necessary treatment. Kadhem was released while in a very poor health condition and then started his medical treatment journey, until he died," the Society said via its Twitter account.
Sayed Kadhem's death comes few days after the demise of prisoner of conscience Hameed Kahtem, who died after a struggle with disease that started inside the prison.
