Bahrain Mirror: Public Prosecutor Ali Fadhl Al-Bouainain announced on Monday (December 9, 2019) that a group of 80 inmates have been released from rehabilitation centers after replacing their remaining jail terms with non-custodial penalties.
The move follows directives which were issued by King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, amid festivities marking the landmark sports achievement, which brought joy to all citizens. "The royal move aims to bring joy into the inmates' families and help them integrate into society", said Al-Bouainain, adding that all those who were released belong to this specified category.
The King directed to expand the non-custodial penalties on this happy occasion, taking into account the human plight of those convicted juveniles and all those who were exploited into committing crimes.
