More than 500 Foreigners Working at Minister of Works with Average salary of 750BD: MP

Bahrain Mirror: MP Ibrahim Al-Nafei said that the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry on Bahrainization of Jobs met Minister of Works, Municipal Affairs and Urban Planning Essam Khalaf and reviewed the statements of the staff working at the ministry.
"It became clear through the ministry's statements that there are 537 foreigners working at the ministry, and that their average salary is 753 dinars," he added.
He explained that the statements provided by the ministry show an inflation in the foreigners' salaries, as the monthly salary of one of the foreign advisers in the ministry amounts to 7,000 dinars. The ministry confirmed its intention to end his contract next February.
In the same context, MP Al-Nafai said that the ministry reported that the contracts of 8 foreign employees in municipal affairs have been terminated, while the termination of 28 contracts for foreigners has been approved, which will come into effect in the coming period, and that the total contracts to be terminated are likely to reach 50 contracts by 2020.
