Bahrain Mirror: A report issued by the National Audit Office for 2019 noticed an increase in the number of students dropping out of the University of Bahrain. The report said that the dropped students reached 7 thousand and 300 within 3 years, costing the state budget about 12 million BD from 2015 to 2018.

The report said that the university council did not commit to distributing students to specialties according to their competitive averages, resulting in preventing other students who are on outnumbered average from the opportunity of receiving the specialties they wish.

It indicated that the University of Bahrain has confirmed the admission of some students despite not passing the necessary entrance exams, in addition to setting price of the books it sells to students at a 10% profit, while selling them to other parties at a profit margin up to 150%. The average of books sold within 3 years reached 2 million dinars.

The report revealed that the President of the University of Bahrain exempted 241 students from tuition fees without standards and regulations, and it was noted that a number of students were exempted from tuition fees despite the fact they don't deserve the exemption.
