Dozens of Diraz Sit-in Case Detainees Released after Commuting their Jail Terms to 6 Months

Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini security authorities released on Tuesday (May 28, 2019) dozens of detainees in Diraz sit-in case after the appeals court commuted their sentences on Monday (May 27, 2019) to 6 months in jail.
Families of detainees received phone calls from the security authorities today at dawn telling them to attend in order to receive their released sons.
The first-instance court had sentenced Diraz sit-in defendants to prison terms ranging between 7 and 10 years. The released detainees had served about 10 months of their prison terms and were then released after the appeals court commuted their sentences.
