Bahrain Mirror: The Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) called on the Arab countries that intend to participate in the upcoming US-led economic workshop that will be held in Manama to "reconsider" their decision.

The Executive Committee said in a statement following a meeting held in Ramallah on Sunday (May 26, 2019) "The goal pursued by the US for the workshop is to start implementing the Deal of the Century and link it to economy after it takes steps in implementing the political parts of the deal."

The Committee called on all Arab countries that have agreed to attend the Manama workshop to "reconsider their positions, and stick to the resolutions of the Dhahran Summit (the Jerusalem Summit) in 2018 and the Tunisia Summit as well as the Arab Peace initiative without any change or substitution."

The organization said in its statement that it views as grave the attempt to integrate Israel, economically, politically and security-wise into the region as it persists with its occupation and illegal annexation of Arab and Palestinian territories.

PLO reiterated its rejection to this workshop, calling on all the invited states and economic and political entities to respect the Palestinian stance and not to participate in the workshop, explaining that "it didn't assign any party to negotiate on behalf of Palestinians."

The White House is to unveil during the conference the first part of President Donald Trump's long-awaited peace plan between Israelis and Palestinians.

The plan, described by Trump as the "Deal of the Century", is expected to encourage Arab donor countries to invest in the West Bank and Gaza Strip before addressing the political issues that are the core of conflict.

Both Saudi Arabia and the UAE have announced their participation in the workshop, while other Arab countries haven't announced their position yet. Many Palestinian businessmen have rejected invitations to participate in the workshop.
