Education Ministry Denies Hiding Incident of Promoting Drugs in Hamad Town Girls School

Bahrain Mirror: Fawzi Al-Jowder, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Education Affairs and Curricula, denied hiding the incident of promoting and selling Lyrica drug inside Hamad Town Intermediate Girls School, which Sharifa Siwar, doctor in the psychiatric field, disclosed.
The ministry said that it had formed a committee composed of the four students of the school Discipline Committee, headed by the school's principal, as well as four of the ministry's legal experts, which listened to all the parties, including testimonies of witnesses, and came to the full conviction that the two students accused of possessing, distributing and using of psychotropic substances (pills) have committed this act, by confession, proof of evidence and testimony of witnesses, and therefore the decision of their dismissal for one academic year has been taken."
