Bahrain Mirror: US Ambassador Justin Siberell said he looked forward to accompanying Bahraini Oil Minister Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa to Houston to promote an oil field that Bahrain says it has discovered.

In an interview with a local newspaper, he said that American companies have considerable experience in the oil and gas sector and have been involved in extracting oil at the outset of the first stages of its discovery in Bahrain, adding that the discovery of the new oil is wonderful news for Bahrain.

He noted that US companies are certainly experienced and have a strong interest in helping develop the new discovery.

"In fact, I look forward to accompanying the oil minister as part of a Bahraini trade delegation to Houston, Texas next month to engage with leading US oil and gas companies. The purpose of the visit is to spread awareness and interest in the important opportunity in this new discovery and to align American creativity and expertise with the needs of this exciting project which is considered very significant for Bahrain's development in the future," he further stated.
