Bahrain Mirror: The Public Prosecution decided on Sunday (February 17, 2019) to extend the detention of head of dissolved Ulama Islamic Council, Sayed Majeed Al-Mashaal, for 15 days pending investigation, over charge of inciting hatred against the regime.
This is the second time this decision is issued against Al-Mashaal since he was presented to the public prosecution on February 2, 2019.
The security authorities arrested Al-Mashaal in order to present him to the prosecution. He was summoned for investigation on January 31, 2019.
The authorities had released him on Monday (January 28, 2019) after serving his two and half year prison term. Sayed Al-Mahsaal was arrested in July 2016 due to his clear stances in defending Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim, the most important spiritual leader for Shia in Bahrain.
