"The chains on the son of Bahrain have been broken by the will of God, the strength, determination and will of Hakim Al-Araibi for freedom, and the chains put on the people in Bahrain will break, God willing, very soon," Al-Daihi said on his Twitter page.

"As Hakeem's chains broke, the chains of 5,000 political prisoners in the prisons of the Bahraini regime will also be broken and whenever the regime dreams of defeating an unarmed people, eventually those with the truth and just cause will prevail," he added.

On February 11, 2019, the Thai Attorney General's Office announced dropping Hakeem Al-Araibi's extradition case, hours after the Bahraini prime minister received a call from his Thai counterpart. A meeting with the Thai Foreign Minister was also held on Sunday.
