NAO Report: Gulf Air Signed Contrary Deal worth 31 Million BD

Bahrain Mirror: National Audit Office report for the years 2017-2018 said that there are mistakes in the Gulf Air's assessment of the bids of suppliers participating in the tender over economy class seats of the new fleet that reached an amount of 15.9 million dinars, as the tender was awarded to the second bidder.
The report noted that the former CEO signed contract No. 73811 on the purchase of an entertainment system of 82 million dollars equivalent to 31 million dinars, in contravention of the requirements of the company's jurisdiction, which states that contracts with a value exceeding 3 million dinars are to be signed by the Board of Directors.
The report pointed out that the company had to pay 918 thousand dollars for an additional cost resource in exchange for speeding up the implementation of changes to the final specifications of the business class seats for the new Boeing aircraft, because they made several changes to the seat.
