Bahrain Mirror: The Fourth High Criminal Court sentenced 13 defendants to 5 years in jail over charge of burning police car and assembling in Abu Saida, and bound them to pay 2909 BD for the damages caused to the patrol.

The Public Prosecution accused the suspects of deliberately setting fire, on 27/12/2017, along with unknowns, to a patrol owned by the interior ministry through Molotov, noting that this would put people's lives and money to danger, for a terrorist aim. It also accused them of taking part, along with other unknowns, in an assembly of more than 5 persons in a public place, aiming at disrupting public peace and committing crimes, noting that they used violence to achieve the aim they gathered for. The prosecution accused them of deliberately damaging a patrol owned by the interior ministry, aiming at putting people's lives and security to danger, intimidating people and spreading chaos for a terrorist aim.

Since 2012, riot cases that go under the demonstrations and riot section of the penal code were adapted to apply to the terrorism law, if there were "terrorist" purposes behind them, such as attempted murder of a police officer, violating the provisions of law and endangering the lives of people and their properties, within the regime's framework of harshening penalties against protesters and activists.
