Bahrain Mirror: The German authorities are to extradite Bahraini citizen to his country following 3 years of residency.
Sheikh Ahmad Nawwar, a Shiite Bahraini cleric, said "after suspending my administrative file for more than 3 years, the German authorities decide to deport me to Bahrain".
Nawwar, who took part in several opposition activities and delivered sermons criticizing the Bahraini authorities, is afraid that he gets arrested and tortured in case he returns to Bahrain.
He told the LuaLau channel that the deportation order has been officially issued by the court, adding that it is untimely up to local authorities in Germany's 16 federal states to rule on whether the person should be forced to leave.
This comes about two weeks after Netherlands took a similar step and extradited Ali Shuwaikh, despite human rights organizations warnings of possibility of his arrest. Indeed, Ali Shuwaikh was arrested and taken to the notorious Criminal Investigation Department in Bahrain. His fate is still unknown to the moment.
