Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini Public Prosecution referred Head of Ras Rumman obsequy Shaker Al-Majed and eulogy reciter Sayed Mahmoud Al-Wadaie to trial after accusing them of charges related to commemorating Ashura occasion. Human rights sources confirmed that the two were referred to the high criminal court about 2 weeks following their arrest.

The Public Prosecution ordered, in September, to arrest Al-Majed and Al-Wadaie for 15 days within a campaign launched against Ashura rituals commemorated by Shia majority. In the campaign launched against Ashura, the authorities arrested at least 4 preachers, summoned others to investigate them over preaching and destroyed food stands.
