Bahrain Mirror: The First High Criminal Court sentenced a Gulf national (33 years) to one year in jail over attacking a policeman. The Court indicated in its merits that it treated the accused with a measure of clemency within the limits of Article 72 of the Penal Code.

The Public Prosecution referred the defendant to trial because, on October 29, 2018, he attacked the bodily integrity of an employee in the ministry of interior due to performing his job, causing him the injuries mentioned in the medical report, noting that the assault did not lead to the policeman's illness or inability to perform his personal duties for more than 20 days. It also accused him of insulting the honor and person of the policeman in a public manner, during and because of his performance of his job.
