King to Call Parliament to Convene at End of September to Set New Retirement Laws: Newspaper

Bahrain Mirror: Al-Ayam newspaper, which has close ties with the Royal Court, said that the Parliament will be invited to convene at the end of the current month to vote on a bill suggested by the parliamentary committee regarding changing the retirement laws.
Pursuant to the Bahraini Constitution, the king has the right to call each of Shura council and deputies, with a royal order, to an exceptional meeting if the king deems it necessary, or based on a request of the majority of members.
The law gives powers to the Board of Directors of the Public authority for Social Insurance in making suitable decisions, and conducting actuarial studies the base over which soundness of these decisions are set as well as the necessity for those decisions.
