Bahrain Mirror: Bahraini citizen Mohammed Khatam said he received a promise to have his case cleared within a month. On August 27, 2018, Khatam was arrested in front of the former government building in the capital, Manama, after he had protested demanding returning him to the job he was dismissed from. On August 29, 2018, the Public Prosecution ordered holding him for a week in custody after charging him with "inciting hatred against the regime." He confirmed in a video recording posted on Wednesday (September 5, 2018) on his Twitter account that he was released and that they promised to resolve his case and they said that within this month, God willing, his case would be cleared. "I am optimistic and I ask them with gratitude to expedite this to end my suffering," he added.

This is the second time Khatam has been arrested for protesting his dismissal from his job five years ago.

Outside the former government building, he held up a sign that said he did not have his day to day livelihood and sent a video recording asking the government to respond to his request.

Khatam has been on a hunger strike since his arrest and was hospitalized at the Ministry of Interior hospital days later for his health deterioration.

Mohammad Khatam was quoted as saying that he would "go on a hunger strike until his demands were met and if the government leaves him, he will die on the streets of Manama and if he is arrested he will die in prison."
