Authorities Release Citizen who Protested Near Government Bldg. Demanding to Be Reinstated after his Health Deteriorated

Bahrain Mirror: Account of Bahraini citizen Mohammad Khatem said that he called his family form the emergency department of Al-Salmaniya and told them that the authorities ordered his release.

Khatem was arrested on Monday (August 27, 2018) after protesting in front of the old government building in Manama demanding to be reinstated. The Public Prosecution ordered on Wednesday (August 29, 2018) to arrest him for 7 days pending investigation, after accusing him of inciting hatred against the regime.

This is the second time Khatem gets arrested over protesting his dismissal from work 5 since years.

Khatem protested in front of the previous government building and held a banner that reads: "I can't find food for my children", and published a video in which he called on the government to meet his demand.

Responsibles for his Twitter account said that Khatem started a hunger strike since his arrest and he was held in the ministry of interior's hospital after his health deteriorated.

The account reiterated what Khatem had previously said that officials' response was "Doors of prisons and closer to the citizens from that of government".

Mohammad said that he will launch a hunger strike until he meets his demands. If the government leaves him, he will die in Manama Streets and if he gets arrested, her will die in prison, the account reported.
