Oldest Detainee in Bahraini Prisons Transferred to Hospital in “Bad State”

Bahrain Mirror: Prison authorities in Bahrain transferred on Wednesday (August 29, 2018) detainee Fawziya Mashala (55 years) to Al-Salmaniya Medical Complex in a bad state.
Fawziya, who was arrest in December 2016, suffers from chronic diseases including blood pressure. She launched several appeals to allow her receive treatment.
She already suffered from heart attack in March that required an urgent transferal to hospital.
Human rights activist Ibtisam Al-Saegh said on her Twitter account "we received news stating that the health of detainee Fawziya Mashala deteriorated and she was transferred to Salmaniya Medical Complex where she fainted and fell on ground. She was admitted to the emergency room in a very bad state and amid security restrictions."
Detainees arrested over political cases complain about being denied treatment. Authorities have ignored treating individuals who were later discovered that they suffer chronic diseases, including cancer.
