Bahrain Mirror: Chief of Terror Crime Prosecution, Advocate General Ahmed Al-Hammadi, said Public Prosecution referred 8 suspects to trial on charge of burning security patrol.
The prosecution, which is usually headed by officers from the interior ministry, often brings criminal charges against protestors demanding putting an end to Al Khalifa monopoly over power.
Al-Hammadi stated that the Public Prosecution relied on verbal statements including witness testimonies, confessions, technical evidence and Criminal Investigation Directorate (CID) reports.
Suspects say they are tortured by the public prosecution and interior ministry to say confessions that incriminate them.
Human rights organizations asked Bahrain to stop using torture and allow the UN Special Rapporteur on Torture to visit the country, however, the government refuses these demands.
