Crown Prince Instructs to Grant Investors 10-Year Residency Permits

Bahrain Mirror: Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa has instructed the Minister of Interior Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa to prepare a draft edict to create a new self-sponsorship residency permit for foreign investors. Under the new system, foreign investors will be able to obtain a 10-year, renewable residency permit on a self-sponsorship basis.
For his part, prominent opposition leader Ibrahim Sharif wondered "Has this become the new way of naturalization, after the political naturalization ruined the national fabric and burdened the state's budget?"
