Bahrain Mirror: The Second Minor Criminal Court acquitted unionist Ali Al-Binali of charges of fraud, by deceiving citizens and selling them gold bullion fringes for costs that are not commensurate with their market value, due to lack of evidence.

The case was made after two complaints against Al-Binali were filed by citizens, who accused him of selling them gold bullion fringes in exchange for debt securities ranging between 10,000 and 15,000 Bahraini dinars, adding that they then discovered that the actual values of some of them is less than range between 1,000 BD.

When they went back to him to inquire about the matter, he asked them to pay the sums they had signed, otherwise he would go to the court with the security debts.

More complaints were submitted against Al-Binali by the citizens, whom he sold electronic devices for very costly prices and who signed debt securities not worth the value of the products they purchased, including a woman who bought three phones for six thousand dinars and another man who bought a computer and then found out that he signed a debt bond for five thousand dinars.

A newspaper stated that Al-Binali sold more than 100 gold bullion fringes. It is also reported that some of these bullion fringes do not bear the stamp of goldsmiths.
