King Fahad Specialist Hospital, Salmaniya Medical Complex Sign Agreement for Transplantation in Bahrain

Bahrain Mirror: Transplant administrative coordinator at King Fahad Specialist Hospital, Hassan Al-Khanani, said that "the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation signed an agreement with Bahrain, represented by King Fahad Specialist Hospital with Salmaniya Medical Complex, to transplant organs to Bahraini patients in Bahrain, in case of stroke deaths."
Al-Khanani indicated that 10 stroke cases took place in one of the years, this means there is 20 kidneys to be donated and transplanted for patients, highlighting the high cost of dialysis and that cost the GCC states a lot of their health budgets.
He further stated that there is thousand stroke death cases annually in GCC states and that 600 cases of them were diagnosed by consent to donate between 30-33%, pointing out that some stroke deaths are not completed for suspicion of heart stop.
