Bahrain Mirror: The Government of Bahrain said in its response on a bill preventing members and heads of dissolved political societies from running in the election that the members and heads of these societies are on a par with those joining banned and secret organizations.

"Heads and members of political societies dissolved in a final verdict for committing grave breaches of the provisions of the Constitution are on par with members belonging to banned or secret organizations under the law, which makes them untrustworthy to care for people's interests as well as represent them," stated the government in its response.

It is to mention that the authorities have dissolved 3 political opposition societies since the eruption of 2011 uprisings; the Islamic Action Association (Amal), the National Islamic Wefaq Society and National Democratic Action Society (Wa'ad).
