12% Annual Increase in Health Services Cost

Bahrain Mirror: Mohammed Bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of Bahrain Supreme Council of Health, said that the rate of increase in the cost of health services range from 10-12% per year.
He added in an intervention during the House of Representatives' session to discuss health Security Act "if we proceed in our current system, the cost of treatment in 2038 will reach billion BD. However, if we modify the system and apply health insurance, it will cost around 800 million BD," stressing that the increase in health services and medications cannot be stopped.
Al Khalifa stressed that the government hospitals will be available to citizens including defence force hospital, given that the Council fund will pay for the citizens in all public hospitals.
