Royal Decree Abolishes Deputy Interior Minister Post, Held by Head of the NSA Talal bin Mohammed Following “Chambers of Death” Report

Bahrain Mirror: The King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, issued Royal Decree No. (18) of 2018 abolishing the position of Deputy Minister of Interior, which was held by Talal bin Mohammed Al Khalifa.
Article (1) of the decree states: "The post of Deputy Minister of Interior shall be abolished," while the second article states that "the Minister of the Interior shall implement the provisions of this decree, which shall come into effect as of the date of its issuance and publication in the Official Gazette.
The Deputy Minister of the Interior was appointed by the King by decree on September 12, 2017, following the removal of Talal Al Khalifa from the presidency of the National Security Agency after his involvement in the torture of dissidents emerged in the "Death Chambers" report, which garnered wide media attention.
