Bahrain's Petrol Prices Adjustment only Saves 26 Million Dinars a Year

Bahrain Mirror: Bahraini Oil Minister Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa said that the volume of revenues and savings expected from the adjustment of the price of petrol is estimated at 26 million dinars a year, pointing out that the Kingdom of Bahrain offers the second cheapest gasoline price after Kuwait.

In response to a question by MP Mohammed Al-Emadi about the justification for the decision to raise gasoline prices in 2018, the amount of revenues resulting from the increase and its impact on the public budget, the minister explained that the adjustment of petrol prices in 2016 contributed to financial saving estimated at about 54 million dinars annually, as all international and local sales- and the increase in revenues- are transferred to the bank accounts of the Ministry of Finance, where they are included in the general state budget.
