The workshop tackled a number of themes, the most prominent of which were: Torture between the international vision and position of the Bahraini legislature, the International Convention Against Torture, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights' position towards torture.

This special training program for the NSA employees began in January and will continue until September 2018.

The National Security Agency is one of the most prominent state bodies involved in the torture of political dissidents that practiced extracting confessions under duress, and has been strongly criticized by international human rights organizations and United Nations bodies.
