Kuwaiti Dissident Ahmad Al-Khatib: Bahraini Shiite Majority Rejected Iranian Shah’s Claims, Bahraini Uprising not Sectarian

Bahrain Mirror: The prominent Kuwaiti dissident Dr. Ahmad Al-Khatib said that there are facts related to Bahrain that everyone must know, explaining that "the majority of Bahraini people belongs to Shiite sect, which the United Nations has confirmed their dedication to Arabism and devotion to their home country Bahrain. This people has overwhelmingly rejected the Shah allegations that it [the Bahraini people] is part of Iran."
He further stated on his personal Twitter account that "The Bahraini reform movement since the 1950s was not sectarian, Sunni and Shiite leaders participated in it, and so is the current movement that started demanding reforms that the King talked about at the beginning when he assumed power. We had the honor to attend a lengthy talk with him [the king] with the participation of some popular Bahraini leaders."
Dr. Ahmad Al-Khatib is a senior prominent Kuwaiti dissident, and served as Vice Chairman of the Foundation Board that penned the Constitution of Kuwait after its independence in the early 1960s. He also participated with others in establishing the Kuwait Democratic Forum and he is one of the most prominent founders of the Arab Nationalist Movement.
