Appeals: 5-Year Jail Term against Suspect Accused of Putting Hoax Bomb in Isa Town

Bahrain Mirror: The Fifth High Criminal Appeals Court upheld a 5-year jail term against a defendant (21 years) over putting a hoax bomb in Isa Town and acquitted him of attempting to blast another bomb and ordered the confiscation of seized items.

The Public Prosecution accused the suspect of attempting, along with others, on May 21, 2015, to blast a bomb aiming at intimidating people, however, it did not blast. The prosecution accused the suspect of manufacturing bombs, along with others, without a license from the ministry of interior for a terrorist aim, and planting, along with other unknowns, hoax bombs on the public street.

The court charged the suspect with putting hoax bomb, and acquitted him of putting the second bomb due to lack of evidence.
