Bahrain Deports on Monday a Number of its Citizens

Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain is expected to expel a number of its citizens from the country on Monday (January 29, 2018) after stripping them of their nationalities five years ago.

Bahraini authorities summoned on Sunday (January 28, 2018) a number of their nationals to the Immigration and Passports Affairs office in order to conclude their deportation procedures.

The court had upheld on January 24th the decision to deport ten citizens after they challenged the decision of the Interior Ministry before the judiciary. They are: Maryam Al-Sayed Ibrahim, Ismail Khalil Darwish, Ibrahim Khalil Darwish, Adnan Ahmed Ali Haji, Habib Darwish Mousa Ghuloom, Sayed Abdulnabi Abdulrida Al-Moussawi, Sayed Abdulamir Abdulrida Al-Moussawi, Sayed Mohamed Abdulrida Al-Moussawi, Ibrahim Ghuloom Hussein Karimi and Taimour Karimi.

On November 6, 2012, the Bahraini Interior Ministry decided to revoke the Bahraini citizenships of 31 people, including two former MPs and clerics.

The authorities effectively deported lawyer Taimour Karimi on May 23, 2016 and Ibrahim Karimi on October 31, 2017.
