Court Upholds 3&5-Year Jail Term against 4 Suspects over Putting Fake Bomb in A’ali

Bahrain Mirror: The Sixth High Criminal Appeals Court rejected the appeal of 4 appellants accused of putting fake bomb on the public street in A'ali. 3 of the appellants are sentenced to 5 years in jail and the fourth one is sentenced to 3 years in jail due to his young age.

The authorities claim that the suspects and other unknowns agreed to meet behind one of the obsequies in A'ali to commit riots and that they brought tires, petroleum bottle and fake bomb to achieve their aim.

The suspects put the tires in Al-Sheikh Street. The first suspect poured petroleum on the tires and the third one set them to fire. However, the second one put the fake bomb near the tires. The suspects then fled. Investigations led to the identity of defendants.

The prosecution accused the suspects of putting, along with other unknowns, on July 26, 2016, fake bomb in the public street for a terrorist aim, deliberately setting fire, along with other unknowns, to movables that would put people's lives and money to danger, taking part, along with other unknowns, in an assembly of more than 5 persons aiming at disrupting public peace as well as acquiring Molotov to use them in an activity that would disrupt public peace.
