Bahrain Mirror: The Shura council intends to vote on the "Selective" Tax draft law in its Sunday session. The financial and economic committee at the council voted on the matter on Thursday, and agreed on the draft law. This came two days after receiving the draft law from the parliament.
The Members of Parliament agreed to the draft law in their last Tuesday session, disregarding the recommendation by the financial committee to reject the draft law.
The committee, presided over by Khalid Hussein al-Maskati, chairman of the committee, passed a draft law approving the unified agreement on selective taxation of the Gulf Cooperation Council states and a draft law on selective taxation. Both draft laws were passed on Tuesday evening to the committee by the chairman of the Shura Council to prepare reports on them.
