Prisoners' Commission: Procedure Established for Organizing Visits to Inmates and Detainees

Bahrain Mirror: The Prisoners and Detainees Rights Commission said it approved a procedure for organizing announced and unannounced visits to prisoners and pre-trial detainees in the places they our held.
"The aim of these announced and unannounced visits is to examine the legal conditions of their detention and the nature of treatment they are receiving, as well as ensure that they are not subjected to ill-treatment or inhuman or degrading treatment, and also make recommendations that contribute to improving their conditions of detention," said the head of the Commission, Nawaf Al-Maaouda.
The Commission's Council had held on Wednesday (November 1 2017) the first meeting after the issuance of Royal Order No. 61 of 2017 for forming the Prisoners and Detainees Rights Commission.
