Court Upholds 3-Year Jail Term Verdict against 6 Suspects over Charge of Burning Tires in Al-Sahla

Bahrain Mirror: The Sixth High Criminal Appeals Court rejected an appeals of 6 convicts out of 7 accused of setting fire and pouring oil in Al-Sahla street last Adha Eid. The court upheld a 3-year jail term verdict against each of the suspects whose ages range between 17 and 25 years.

The authorities say that the suspects, along with other unknowns, assembled in Al-Sahla Street in Jidhafs on 12/9/2016 on the morning, aiming at disrupting public peace and putting people's lives and private transportation means to danger. The suspects had a number of tires and oils.

The public prosecution accused the suspects of deliberately setting fire, along with other unknowns, on September 12, 2016, to the movables that would put people's lives and money to risk and taking part, along with other unknowns, in an assembly of more than 5 persons in a public place, aiming at disrupting public peace, noting that they used violence to achieve the aim they gathered for. The prosecution also accused the suspects of deliberately putting private transportation means to danger.
