Bahrain Mirror- Exclusive: The final accounts of state showed that the government borrowed 6 Billion BD that exceeds its actual need to cover the fiscal deficit, without specifying where it spent them.

Since 2000 until 2016, the fiscal deficits reached 4 billion BD. Meanwhile, the government lent in the same period about 10 billion BD, which means that it borrowed 6 billion BD more than its actual needs.

The government did not disclose where it spent these billions despite repeated demands.

Prominent opposition leader Ibrahim Sharif had called on the government to be transparent in telling about the money it spends outside the budget.
