Bahraini FM Makes Surprise Visit to Iraq to Meet Three Officials

Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini Minister of Foreign Affairs, Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, arrived in the Iraqi capital Baghdad on Sunday (August 13, 2017) in a surprise unannounced visit.
A Foreign Ministry source said that during the visit the Bahraini FM will meet three Iraqi officials, namely Iraq's President Fuad Masum, Prime Minister Haider Al-Abadi, and Foreign Minister Ibrahim Al-Jaafari. According to the source, he did not announce yet the reason for the sudden visit.
Bahrain New Agency (BNA) reported that the FM conveyed the greetings of the King, Prime Minister and Crown Prince to the Iraqi president.
For his part, the Bahraini Foreign Minister stressed on the Kingdom of Bahrain's keenness to expand the frameworks of cooperation and joint coordination between the two brotherly countries in all fields to achieve their interests and benefit its people, adding that the island kingdom supports anything that brings stability and security to Iraq.
