Bahrain: Parliamentary Financial Committee Approves BD 13 Billion Public Debt Limit

Bahrain Mirror: The Committee on Financial and Economic Affairs in the Bahraini Parliament approved by a majority vote to raise the public debt limit to BD 13 billion. This came during a meeting convened for the committee on Saturday (July 8, 2017).
Head of the Committee, Abdul Rahman Bu Ali, said that since the public debt increased from its BD 1.335 rate in 2007 to 8.866 in 2016, by 74% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), the financial and economic committee agreed to raise the public debt limit to BD 13 billion.
