Bahrain Mirror: Ministry of Interior said on Thursday (June 29, 2017) that it arrested a number of people whom it accused of establishing two armed groups related to what it calls "Saraya Al-Ashtar".
Chief of Public Security Tariq Al-Hassan said in a press conference that the group used an uninhabited building in Al-Dair as a place to store explosives and manufacture bombs.
The arrestees among Al-Dair raids are: Sayed Ahmed Mahdi Kadhem (20), Isa Hassan Isa Ali (20), Ali Dawood Ahmed Dawood Al Aradi (19), Hassan Shakir Hassan Ali (21) and Maitham Ali Hassan Ali Hassan (20). Al-Hassan claimed that they are responsible for security incidents.
He added that they are responsible for the terror blast in Abu Saiba on February 4, 2017, in which a police patrol was targeted and two civilian cars in the vicinity were damaged. He alleged that they are also responsible for the terror blast in Sanabis on February 23, 2017, in which a female driver was injured and the grenade attack on security forces in Samaheej on April 7, 2017.
Al-Hassan accused Abdullah Abdulmahdi Hassan Al Aradi (24) and Loay Hani Saood Hussain Al Muamen (19) of establishing a group to target security forces.
Special forces raided on Friday a number of houses in Al-Dair and arrested the suspects randomly.
Human rights organizations, including Amnesty, stress that Bahrain's Ministry of Interior resort to systematic torture to extract confessions from suspects that convict them before the court.
