3-Year Jail Term Handed down to Detainee in Jaw Prison over Punching Policeman in His Face

Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's Fifth High Criminal Court presided over by judge Ibrahim Al-Zayed with the membership of judges Mohsen Mabrouk and Moataz Abu Al-Ezz and Yousif Bu Hardan as a secretariat sentenced a detainee accused of attacking policeman in Jaw Prison to 3 years in prison.

The policeman who works as a concierge claimed that he was searching the suspect's room and that the detainee insulted him and attacked him by punching him in his face.

The policeman said that he found banned stuff in the detainee's room and when he wanted to take them, the detainee attacked and insulted him.

The Public Prosecution accused the suspect of assaulting on 26/10/2015, the bodily integrity of a policeman causing him the damages mentioned in the medical report, noting that the attack did not hinder him from performing his personal works for more than 20 days, and publicly insulting the said public employee for and while performing his job.
