House of Representatives Agrees to Stop Retirement Rights and Benefits of Citizens Revoked of Citizenships

Bahrain Mirror: The House of Representatives agreed in its session on a decree regarding ceasing the retirement rights and benefits in case Bahraini citizenship is revoked, lost or in case the individual is given a foreign citizenship without a permission.
The council said that the law comes "to protect the interest of Bahrain, its national security and fill the legislative vacuum, especially after a number of decrees and judicial provisions revoked the nationalities of opposition citizens outside Bahrain, and after a number of retired military individuals or citizens received foreign citizenships contrary to the law applied in Bahrain, resided in foreign countries and abided by their laws. Thus, there is no justification that these citizens continue to receive benefits from the social security systems in Bahrain."
