House of Representatives Rejects Imposing 5% Tax on Companies Earning More than 500.000 BD Annually

Bahrain Mirror: The House of Representatives rejected a parliamentary proposal that suggests imposing 5% tax on the companies that earn 500.000 BD or more.
The House of Representatives also approved a law that aims at restricting the government on terms of imposing taxes or increasing them. The proposal suggests that no increase shall be imposed on fees unless a decision that specifies its limits is issued.
A number of deputies had proposed imposing 5% fees on the net profits of each company that annually earns 500.000 BD or more, which was rejected by the finance committee in its latest meeting.
