Mystery Surrounds Sheikh Isa Qassim’s Fate after Regime Controls his House in Diraz

Bahrain Mirror: Mystery surrounds the fate of Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim, highest Shiite religious leader in Bahrain, since the security attack by Ministry of Interior forces Tuesday dawn (May 23, 2017) to disperse protest outside Sheikh Isa's house in Diraz, west of Manama.

Security forces backed with armors siege Sheikh Qassim's house from all sides, and cars and pedestrians were banned from approaching its surrounding.

On this level, an opposition source told "Bahrain Mirror" that the fate of Sheikh Isa is "unknown due to the lack of information from there", confirming that he was in his house at the time of the attack.

The Ministry of Interior on its part announced its decision to keep the security forces in the area.

Security forces continue their raids in the houses and alleys near Sheikh Qassim's house, and residents witnessed dozens of arrests.

The Ministry of Interior also announced that since the raid, it arrested 50 individuals present in the protest. However, resident in the area said that the number is more than that, adding that their houses were damaged by the police.

At least 1 protester was killed and dozens injured in this ongoing operation.

The internet network speed decreased in the area, before it was completely cut

Clashes between police and protesters stopped after 6 hours since the beginning of the raid, and after the security forces imposed a full deployment in the area.
