Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain witnessed today Sunday (May 21, 2017) many angry protests denouncing the court's sentence issued against religious leader Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim, over charges of managing the Shiite religious Khums ritual.
Thousands of Bahrainis took to the streets of dozens of Shiite towns and villages on Sunday night, calling against the Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, who also today met with US President Donal Trump in Riyadh.
Protesters warned the government against committing any escalatory steps against Ayatollah Qassim, stressing their readiness to sacrifice their lives for him.
Regime forces fired shotgun bullets and teargas canisters at protests, leading to several injuries.
In Diraz, where thousands protest outside Sheikh Qassim's house, a mass march rallied in the streets of the town, with protesters confirming their continuous sit-in. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior summoned the heads of Diraz-based obsequies, and asked them to help and intervene to disperse the sit-in staged outside Sheikh Qassim's house.
