Bahrain Mirror: Hezbollah denounced on Sunday (May 21, 2017) the sentence against the senior religious leader in Bahrain, Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim.
In a statement, Hezbollah said that it "condemns in the strongest terms the unjust sentence handed down by the authorities in Bahrain against His Eminence Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim. The verdict is considered a crime added to the series of crimes committed by the regime against the patient Bahraini people for decades, and during the current uprising."
"This unjust sentence against the most prominent authority for Shiites Muslims in Bahrain, and the accusation of practicing one of the most important religious rituals; receiving Khums and Zakat money to deliver to the poor and orphans is a disgrace to this regime. It comes at a time when the King was meeting US President Trump to gain his absolute protection against the oppressed people," Hezbollah added in its statement.
"We condemn and denounce the new ruling added to the previous dangerous decision to revoke the nationality of Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim. We turn to the steadfast Bahraini people, who defended their authority, religion, dignity, and rights, and salute them, and confirmed that the choice they adopted is the right one, and will lead them to their goals God Willing," it further stated.
Hezbollah called through his statement upon "All independent governments, people, figures and scholars of all Muslims to support the Bahraini people, and protect them to achieve righteousness and their just demands."
