Geneva: Finland Demands Bahrain Guarantees Independence of SIU

Bahrain Mirror - Exclusive: Finland demanded the Bahraini government to guarantee the independence of the Public Prosecution's Special Investigations Unit (SIU), which investigates cases in violations committed by police and security men.
In its intervention on Monday (May 1, 2017) during the 27th UPR session in Geneva on Bahrain's human rights record, Finland noted death penalties executed by Bahrain early this year, and demanded that this penalty be suspended in an approach to terminate it.
